Details Silhouette of a Clydeport Crane taken through a wet and misty Perspex window of the footbridge across the Clydeside Expressway.
Taken on a very wet and windy day at the Exhibition Centre Station, Glasgow during lunchtime on 4th December 2006.
Clear vision of the same Clydeport Crane taken through the window of a bus shelter outside the Exhibition Centre.
Taken on another very wet and windy day at the Exhibition Centre, Glasgow during lunchtime on 7th December 2006.
Technical Canon 5D with Canon 24-105mm f4 L IS set at 95mm.
ISO 400, 1/60 at f14, handheld.
No post processing except a slight crop to remove a cream colour fringe at the top right of the image.
Canon 5D with Canon 24-105mm f4 L IS at 67mm.
ISO 200, 1/60 at f11, handheld.
No post processing except a slight crop, removing part of the advertising poster and roof of the shelter.
Creative I like this image very much due to the monochrome effect of this colour image with its atmospheric, washed out, painted look.
The crane is not position on or near a third, but the balance of the image makes it work very well.
The faint graffiti and the raindrops on the glass of the bus shelter accentuate the fact that this is taken through clear glass.
There is no balance in the image. I contemplated a squarer crop, but this would have taken away the water droplets which are essential to the image.
I tried various viewpoints and angles, but this resulted in even more clutter than there is in the bottom part of the image.
